Stares Nest

"Stunning secluded 13th century cottage with large garden, fabulous bathrooms, wood-burning stove, a great local pub and excellent walking, cycling and wild swimming nearby"

This amazing cottage has been in the owner, Jane's family for many years, and as her and her partner Stuart are architects it’s been sensitively restored to a very high standard. It really is the quintessential Dartmoor cottage, combining the cosiness of low ceilings and a wood burning stove with great modern features such as the fabulous new bathrooms with limestone floors, heated towel rails and underfloor heating. It's the kind of cottage you won’t want to leave at the end of your holiday!
The ground floor has stone floors throughout. The kitchen/breakfast room has a Rayburn, electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine & dishwasher. The sitting/dining room has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove plus electric heating, rugs and comfortable furniture.
Upstairs the master bedroom is ensuite. It also has a door out to an inglenook overlooking the garden (see photos). The second bedroom has a double and a single bed with a separate shower room. The newly fitted bathrooms have limestone floors with underfloor heating and heated towel rails.

Outside
There is private parking for one car and additional parking close by in the village. You go through a white gate to reach the south facing slate courtyard. The courtyard has a table and chairs looks over the mature gardens with a stream and ponds. These make the garden unsuitable for children under 5. The gardens are quite extensive and include a separate lawned area reached down a path which runs alongside the church yard and the aforementioned inglenook, accessed from the master bedroom or the garden.

Facilities and services
Free Wi-fi, TV, Blue Ray DVD player. Use of landline for local calls. Use of the oil-fired Rayburn is included.
